First MGH spine tumor lecture
The MGH Spine Tumor Center hosted the first Brian
D. Silber Lectureship April 5, featuring guest speaker Fred J. Epstien, MD, founding
director of the Institute for Neurology and Neurosurgery at the Beth Israel Medical
Center in New York. The lecture was sponsored by the Brian D. Silber Memorial
Fund, established in memory of Brian Silber, who died in 1996 at the age of 28
after a three-year battle with spinal cord cancer. The Silber Memorial Fund is
supported by the annual Brian D. Silber Golf Tournament, which will be taking
place this year at the Colonial Golf Club in Lynnfield July 18. For more information
